Planned and built by Rani Ahilyabai, the brave Holkar queen, Indore lies to the extreme west of Madhya Pradesh on the banks of the rivers Saraswati and Khan which unite at the centre of the city. The bustling and vibrant city, 186 km from Bhopal, derives its name from the 18th century Indreshwar temple.

Indore Climate
Summer during April to June is hot with a temperature hovering around 36°C. Maximum temperature during summer can touch as high as 45°C. In Indore summer nights are cool and pleasant due to its location in Malwa plateau. Monsoon starts in the month of July and continues till September and weather is wet and sticky. During winter (November to February) the temperature can drop to a level of 2°C to 3°C.

International travelers can get connecting flights to Indore from Delhi (800 km) or Mumbai (655 km) airport.
How to reach Indore by Rail:Indore is connected to Delhi and Mumbai by rail. There are regular express trains, which connects Indore with major cities in India.
How to reach Indore by Road:Indore is well connected by bus with Ujjain (55 km, 1.5 hours) and Bhopal (186 km, 4.5 hours). Indore is also connected to Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Ahemdabad by direct private luxury buses operated by travles such as Hans travels. Super fast and Deluxe A/C buses are also available in these routes. Bus fare is about Rs 3 to Rs 4 per km.
