"Eglise de Sacre Coeur de Jesus which is also known as the Jesus Church is situated on the South Boulevard just beyond the railway station, on the opposite side of the road.

Dedicated to the sacred heart of Jesus the church stands out as an oriental specimen of Gothic architecture. The Eglise de Sacre Coeur has all the trappings of a typically Gothic church: rose windows, twin spires, imposing facade.

The interior of the Eglise de Sacre Coeur de Jesus has an interesting fusion of French colonial trends and South Indian styles. The walls of the church are ornamented with terracotta and stained glass which gives the Church a bright, ostentatious character. Some of the stained glass has suffered the ravages of time - pieces are missing, sections have cracked; but most are, despite all of that, definitely worth a look as they display events from the life of Christ.

All in all, not a must-see, but if you're in the vicinity, take out fifteen minutes and pay a visit to this place. The stained glass, at least, is worth looking at. Note that entry is free and you can go in just about any time between sunset and sunrise. This is, however, a living church and at any given time, there are bound to be at least some worshippers, even if a mass is not being celebrated.
